We have two MOT testers at Kirkhill Auto Services – Bruce and Craig. All MOT tests are carried out under the regulations of DVSA. If your vehicle fails the MOT, we will contact you to explain why it has failed and recommend any further actions, including a quote to repair your vehicle.

When testing a vehicle we will also advise you of any minor faults.

Some customers like to have their vehicle in tip top condition so we will advise you if some of the minor faults should be fixed now or at the next service.

All UK cars three years old and over require a valid MOT certificate by law. An MOT is a standardised annual test, set by the DVSA, to make sure your vehicle meets all the legal requirements for safe road use

MOT tests can be carried out on your car up to one month prior to the expiry date of an existing UK MOT certificate provided that you have a current MOT certificate and present this to the examiner at the time of the test. On passing the MOT, you will then receive a certificate valid from the date of expiry of your existing MOT.
